Part I

General Provisions

  1. The amount of the study-related fees is governed in accordance with Article 24 of the Statutes of Charles University by Appendix no. 2 of the Statutes of Charles University as amended.
  2. On the basis of an approved application for spreading the instalments, the fee associated with the studies of a study program in a foreign language is payable in two instalments.
  3. Obtaining fee relief under Part Two precludes granting of fee relief under Part Three.

 

Part II

Reduction of Fees in the Academic Year of 2017/2018 Prior to the Completion of Studies

  1. In case a student of a follow-up master's degree program in a foreign language has already fulfilled all of the study obligations set out in his/her study plan, or if only a diploma seminar has not been met yet, he/she may file an appeal and apply for a fee reduction related to the studies of a study program to 600 EUR. The preceding sentence is applied similarly to the student of a bachelor study programme in foreign language, who has already fulfilled all study requirements set in the curriculum, or if the bachelor seminar is the only unfulfilled study requirement. 

 

Part III

Reductions in the Fees in the Course of the Studies in the Academic Year of 2017/2018

1.       In the bachelor’s study program of Economics and Finance, the study discipline of Economics and Finance, a follow-up Master’s study program of Economics and Finance, the study discipline of Economics and Finance, the follow-up Master’s study programs of Political Science, the study disciplines of International Relations and International Economic and Political Studies:

a)      A fee reduction of 2 thousand EUR may be granted on the basis of an appeal to a student who in his/her GPA (grade point average) in the preceding semester (or in the first year according to the result of the admission procedure) ranks in the best decile. The fee reduction in the first semester does not apply to the study discipline of International Economic and Political Studies.

b)     A fee reduction of 1 thousand EUR may be granted on the basis of an appeal to a student who in his/her GPA in the preceding semester (or in the first year according to the result of the admission procedure) ranks in the second best decile.

c)      Students of individual study disciplines in individual years of study will be counted their GPA on the basis of all examination results and credits according to the rules for calculating high achievement scholarships for the past semester, and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst according to this criterion. It applies that the reduction can only be granted to a student who meets the minimum number of credits for awarding a scholarship under the Rules for Awarding Scholarships at FSV UK and studies at maximum a standard period of study (i.e. 3 years of Bachelor's and 2 years of Master's degree).

2.       With effect from 1 October 2017, it is also possible to apply for a reduction in the study-related fee in the follow-up Master's study discipline of International Security Studies.

a)   A fee reduction of 1 thousand EUR may be awarded on the basis of an appeal to a student who ranks as the best in the second year of studies in his/her GPA. Article 1 para 1 of this part shall apply parallely to the determination of the GPA.

b)   A fee reduction of 1 thousand EUR may be awarded on the basis of an appeal to a student who within his/her studies undertakes a 1-semester study stay at University of Konstanz.

c)   A fee reduction of 6 thousand EUR may be awarded on the basis of an appeal to a student who studies at University of Konstanz and within his/her studies in the study discipline arrives at FSV UK on the basis of inter-faculty agreement.

3.       A fee reduction of 2 thousand EUR may be awarded on the basis of an appeal to a student in the follow-up Master’s study discipline of Sociology in European Context. The fee under the previous sentence may be reduced to the students who are nationals of the countries listed in the table in Appendix no. 1 (countries with a low gross national income per capita).

 

 

Part IV

Efficiency Period 

This provision comes into force on 1 October 2017.
