FSV UK offers some of the highest quality English language Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degree programmes in Central and Eastern Europe in all fields of social sciences, giving students an opportunity to obtain their degree from one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious universities in the world.

Research

FSV UK fully supports the socio-scientific research. The Faculty integrates and co-ordinates the research plan it has acquired with several departments of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Within this framework, FSV UK has made a commitment to provide the professional public with a critical and scientifically-based reflection on the development of Czech society from a long-term perspective.

Life at Faculty

Student life is not only studying at a library or your dorm and attending lectures and seminars! There is a whole bunch of stuff students do together in their free time - social, cultural, political or sport events, trips, parties...and much more! There is nothing easier than just join and enjoy the life at FSV UK!

Language Centre

The Language Centre is a component part of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. It was set up in 1990 with the foundation of the faculty. Its aim is to provide language tuition that will reflect the needs of the students.

The Language Centre secures courses of English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Italian for all the institutes within the faculty. The courses are designed to provide students with crucial vocabulary specific to the study fields offered at the faculty (i.e. Economics, Mass Media Studies and Journalism, International Relations, Political Science and Sociology). The courses aim to prepare students better for their future careers.

In addition, the Centre provides the courses of Czech as a Foreign Language.

Our teachers adapt the courses to satisfy individual needs of the students from different institutes with the emphasis on specialized language. They focus on the solidification of languages skills as well as the mastering of communication skills in a given study field.
